Boo Graphics - Professional Graphic & Web Design with Digital & Film Photography

I was born in Prince Rupert, British Columbia, In 1956. As a small boy I remember the last of the steam engines as diesel locomotives began to take over. My father was a CNR locomotive engineer and my grandfather was a commercial fisherman. My days were spent on a train or a boat where I was surrounded by the power and beauty of the world I lived in.

I was creative in my younger years. Learning photography and building things which I sometimes got into trouble for doing. In my later teen years I began an apprenticeship in autobody and painting. In the 1970's this trade allowed me to be creative. However, like the steam engine, custom bodywork and painting was being lost and the demand for this work was diminishing as regular bodywork and painting took over. I was bored.

In 1990, I studied for a degree in Fisheries and Aquaculture. I graduated in 1995. I enjoyed once again being surrounded by nature but, something was missing. I still always had my camera with me. In 2009, I began studying for a diploma in Computer Graphic Design. Why not, I loved photography, painting, creating things, and I had been involved in computers and writing web sites for almost 20 years. This career seemed to bring everything together. I graduated in the Spring of 2010 and feel this decision was one of the best I have ever made. Quite simply, I love my job.

Old or new photographs can be turned into paintings using Adobe Photoshop or Corel Painter. Your old photographs can be restored to their original look when they were taken 50 or 100 years ago. I use both digital and film cameras today. Most of my film photography is in black and white with my Canon T-70 or Minolta XG-7. For digital macros I use a FinePix E510.
